McDowell Pharmaceuticals is an independent, family owned pharmaceutical wholesaler.
We are licensed to wholesale in the EEA and UK, and hold that licence with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)*.
We offer extensive ranges of products for pharmacy, many at discounted prices.
Courier Based Delivery
We offer a next day (courier-based) delivery service throughout Ireland** and are open Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm.***
We have been serving the independent pharmacy sector in Ireland since 2000. We have always taken a pride in the service we offer, building strong long-term customer relations.
Wide Range of Products - Republic of Ireland
In the Republic of Ireland we offer surgical items. All surgical items are ‘CE’ marked and are the same as the local product or of the same quality standard.
An extensive range of unlicensed medicines (ULM) are available (otherwise referred to as “unauthorised medicinal products”). Please see more details on restrictions and obligations pertaining to the purchase of ULMs in the relevant section of the website. We do not supply cold chain products.
We carry the Milton-Lloyd range of fragrances, which are high quality, but low cost. This is mainly due to the fact that a negligible spend on marketing allows the product range to be offered at a relatively low price, without compromise to quality. These are not available through our website. Please contact us for more information.

In Northern Ireland we also offer:-
• A limited range of unlicensed medicines (otherwise referred to as ‘unauthorised medicinal products)
• Non-branded fragrances. We carry the Milton-Lloyd range of fragrances, which are high quality, but low cost. This is mainly due to the fact that a negligible spend on marketing allows the product range to be offered at a relatively low price, without compromise to quality
• We do not supply cold chain products
These product ranges are extensive, but not unduly so. We try to offer a manageable portfolio of product so as to minimise out of stocks and avoid obsolete listings in our pricelist.

* Our licence number is WDA 57200 and is listed on the MHRA website. A copy is available on request.
** Orders placed before 4.00pm we try to deliver on the next trading day (Monday to Friday). Our stock status on our website is maintained almost as live. However, sometimes stock demand overshoots our supply and leads to a one day delay in despatching the order.
*** It is impossible for us to give telephone or email feedback on ever order delay or quantity reduction. Our primary means of order feedback after you place your order is to email a copy of your invoice. When your invoice arrives by email, you know your order has been picked and, if there is any extra feedback, it will be conveyed in a message on that invoice. Until you receive that email, you must assume that your order has still not been picked for some reason.
